TJ grew up in the rural town of Mansfield, Pennsylvania.  He has always enjoyed the outdoors and has spent a lot of his time hunting and fishing.  TJ has also lived in Ohio and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a minor in Bible from Cedarville University.  After graduating from college, TJ was hired as a high school social studies teacher in his hometown.  He spent several years teaching and coaching in public and private high schools before God opened the door for him to pursue full-time vocational ministry.TJ has been married to his best friend, Katie, since August of 2004.  The two met at church in their teens and have been together since.  The couple has served in various church ministries throughout their marriage and have enjoyed growing together in the Lord.  They are expecting their first child in July of 2011.In June 2008, TJ and Katie sold their home in Pennsylvania to join their friends Johnny and Lori Pereira in starting a new church in Naples, Florida.  Several months later, Viewpoint Church opened its doors with the goal of impacting Southwest Florida with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  It was during this time that TJ and Katie began to develop a relationship with Terry and Jamie Hoskins. As a result of his friendship with Terry, TJ began to see that Biblical Counseling is more than just counseling – it is an opportunity to open the door for the Gospel to impact the lives of people.  TJ began to work as an intern at Oasis Counseling Center in 2010 and attributes much of his growth as a pastor to the intense discipleship he has experienced during his time at Oasis.  TJ and Katie are excited to be a part of this ministry and look forward to the work God is going to do here!

Myriam Kriel

Myriam Kriel, was born and raised in South Africa, and came to the United States with her husband and son, as bi-vocational missionaries. Her love for the counseling ministry started when she was one of the Youth Leaders on a full time ministry team in a church with several thousand members; during which she relied on God’s word, His grace and His mercy, to help guide some members of this large multi-cultural youth, that were under her care, into a closer relationship with God encouraging them to live a full life by being witnesses for Christ, through the study of the Word, evangelism, missions, discipleship and counseling.

Her passion for the counseling ministry continued to grow during her time as children’s minister here on Marco Island, as she worked with parents who were in desperate need of true biblical guidance.  Furthermore, she has worked with woman dealing with various issues, and marriages. She also has a great love for counseling senior citizens which she cultivated during her years in outreach to two nursing homes in Naples.

She is currently a member in good standing of the American Association of Christian Counselors as she works on obtaining her Diploma in Christian Counseling. Fred Mundie spent six years in the United States Marine Corps where his interest in all things “tax and financial” began. Fred received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC, and then graduated from the University of Florida College of Law. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1998 and has practiced primarily in the areas of estate planning and real estate transactions.God has moved mightily in Fred’s life, and he believes wholeheartedly in Pastor Tim’s teaching that if we have a pulse, we have a purpose! And Fred’s purpose from God is to teach others how to handle God’s blessings in accordance with God’s plan and purpose. The Bible contains over 2300 references to money–with so many references to one topic, it is clear God wants us to sit up and pay attention to what He has to say on the subject. So no matter your stage in life, no matter your age, no matter your net worth, if you have not studied God’s word on how to handle your finances, your stewardship of what God has blessed you with can be improved!Fred and his wife, Julie, married in 1996 and God blessed them with one child, Olivia, born in 2003. Fred is currently teaching Olivia God’s way of handling finances, so that she and her future family will enjoy the many blessings God will provide without the stress and duress of the world’s view of money!

Ralph Esquievel

Group Leader

Ralph Esquivel is originally from Michigan where he moved to Marco Island four years ago. He owned retail pet stores for eighteen years in Michigan. Ralph moved to Marco for further business endeavors, but God brought him here for another purpose altogether. Ralph did not know the Lord for most of his life, and had struggled with various addictions including alcohol and drug use. God used his addictions and other trials to bring Ralph to “his” bottom. Through this process God drew Ralph to Himself. Ralph says, “that God brought him to the end of himself.” This was a painful process because he finally became aware of his self-seeking and ego-driven ways of thinking and behaving. It was clear that Ralph was living for himself instead of God. In desperation Ralph turned to God, although now looking back Ralph recognized that God was drawing him the whole time.

Ralph has seen God work miraculously in his life as he is now counted as one of the elect. Today he does not struggle with addictions, as he gives God glory for taking him out of the bondage. God used Oasis Counsel with a year of intense counseling, where he learned the right perspective of God, himself, and others. He also is indebted to the Family Church where he first met the Lord.

Ralph has a new purpose for his life as he now wants to give himself to God for His glory. Ralph desires to help others that are caught in the downward spiral of addictions. He has taken classes in HOPE Counseling Center where he learned more insight into how to help people with the Word of God. Plus, he come to Oasis Counsel classes where God is still continuing to stretch him. Finally, Oasis Counsel has started a ministry called “TAG,” which stands for Transformation Addiction Group. Ralph is the facilitator for TAG.

Wayne Rose

Wayne Rose loves to serve. Wayne says, “people can give their time, talent, and resoures to show the love of Christ to others.” He believes Oasis Counsel has a wonderful opportunity to serve others through counseling ministry.

Wayne attended Bob Jones University where he studied business. He then went on to a business college. God gave Wayne business sense early on, as he took a car auto leasing company out of bankruptcy to a thriving business. Than Wayne purchased a candy store, and franchised it into a nationally known company. Finally, Wayne built a “KOA” campground that is now ranked one of the highest parks in the system for a consecutive 19 years. Wayne gives God all the glory and honor for his business decisions that turned out successful.

Wayne has been a Christian for many years and he is taking his business wisdom, and practical insights from God’s Word to help Oasis continue to grow and thrive as a counseling ministry.

Wayne has a heart to serve and love others because of his own tough past. As he was given away by his birth mother very early on, and was adopted by another family. When he was ten Wayne became a Christian. Although his Christian life was not always easy as he was beaten up by a gang in Detroit. He has learned and matured through the trials God has allowed him to experience. This is one of a number of stories Wayne has been through that gives him a passion to help and love others.
